Hi folks will this semi synthetic oil be ok in td5, I don't really understand all the specsetc
?

Bit confused as it say semi synthetic under the oil type section right at bottom but specs are right.

Am I better off with this fully synthetic stuff that's LR approved?

All the LR techs I know say stick with fully synth. I hvae sone that fir my Td5 and my RR SC as they are both all aluminum.

The manual says so long as it meets the spec, however I also go with fully synth and I use no dino oil in my motor.

Users manual and shop manual spec:

Td5 diesel engine sump 5W/30 5W/40, 5W/50
Oil to meet
ACEA A1.98 & B1.98 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)
2003 Range Rover Mk III (Desmond FitzWilliam)
2000 Defender 110 CSW TD5 (CTX)

So the fuchs is ok it says A1 but not mention of .98

England 2005 Defender 90 Td5 XS CSW Java Black
HX7 is semi synthetic, Clever marketing as it says Synthetic technology.

Helix ultra professional is fully synthetic.
