Belt replace
As i gear towards removal of the AC system, my first thought is replacing the serpentine belt.

From what i can see, it is a simple replacement once the compressor has been removed with a shorter belt & new pulley

With AC

The routing being identical, however it looks like the pulley PQR500230 which acts as a tensioner(?) would need replacing with PQH500100 which replaces the top loop of the compressor.

If someone has experience of both engines i'd appreciate your feedback on this subject

Cheers

At face value I cannot see any difference, but overall dia. May well different. As far as I am aware, they are an idler wheel, with no other purpose bar to take tension load and guide in that location.
The tensioner does all the tension work which is separate.

If you’d like me to take measurents on mine I can as mine is non AC from the factory.
As I said only thing I can imagine is maybe the overall circumference diameter maybe different.

Or possibly give D44 a call, they do conversions. 👍🏻 Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Cheers Steve, I'll get a measurement of the belt width and see what it is against yours.

The picture shows 2 different idler part numbers ( my bad wording as tensioner! ) and of course different belt numbers.

I'm removing the dash next week whilst i can outside, then onto the engine bay afterwards as i can get the nose of the Landy into the garage if it rains.

In the meantime i'll figure out the belt/idler scenario
