I took everything out without removing the wheel or arch liner. I do think you could get to the rivets if you turned the wheel hard right, there is room.

Revival of this great write up in hopes some great mate can guide me through the LHD puma air box removal. I plan to drill the rivets from underneath as well as pull the cowl. But all I hear is nightmare stories on removing it without breaking it or cutting it up. Some guide would be welcomed!

No need to drill out anything on a LHD car.
Inside the wheel well there are three bolts that hold the steel plate underneath the air box in place. Remove those and from beneath the car you can pull down on the plate to release it from the air box and remove it from below. Then all that’s left is moving the air box horizontally to release the final two pins from grommets. Then it’s a Tetris game to get the box out. Take it easy and you won’t even scratch the ac line.
