To run it all the time on the vehicle you have to remove Drivers speaker, push the ODB connector back out of it's holder and sideways so you can plug Scanguage in, AND close the Fuse cover. If you want to still access the ODB connector without unplugging Scanguage, you can get an ODB "Y" connector so that the Scanguage can be left in place and still have access to an ODB socket that can be fixed in the correct place in the Fuse box. That's what I use, and I just pull out the plug in the back of the Scanguage when the dealer plugs in his laptop etc:
The Scanguage is used constantly as an auxilliary guage showing Water Temp, Air Intake Temp,Volts and I've set up an Xgauge on it to show L/100km on a Tank full of fuel so I can show the changes in economy with different brands of diesel etc:.  |

Scanguage fitted on dash with velcro - so it can be easily removed for use in a second vehicle - have second lead for this.
 Click image to enlarge Cable goes along bottom of windscreen. Click image to enlarge Undo screws on side of dashboard and lead cable down side of dash and up behind Speaker. My cable can be seen as I also have a cable for Reversing system in same place. Click image to enlarge ODB connector removed from holder in Fuse box and connected to Y connector- Scanguage ODB plu is then plugged into Y connector and the 2nd Female ODB connector on Y connector fed back into holder in fuse box. Judicious use of some gaffer tape alows connector to be wedged tightly into holder. Click image to enlarge In case the Scanguage might interfere when plugging in Garage diagnostic computer - just remove connector from rear of gauge. Hope these help. :thumbsup:

1. When warning lights/symbols, particularly Engine warning light come on - Scangauge will show the error codes stored in ECU.
2. Able to reset error codes. 3. Enables you to visit dealer with at least some knowledge of what the problem might be. 4. Able to monitor many of the engine sensors and display readings 5. Automatically calculates fuel economy 6. Can set up your own X gauges to monitor many parameters. |

I too like Welshgas have the y lead. I don't use mine for the scangauge, instead if you plug in the scangauge you can then undo the screw holding the obd socket and push the complete unit into the fuse box allowing you to close the cover with only a slight bulge. To remove the scangauge plug it is then just a case of pulling the plug and socket back into position to allow re fitting of the screw before unplugging scangauge. I also made a windscreen mount from an old mobile phone bracket to hold the scangauge. Then I fed cable along windscreen and down the drivers side, through the dash (undo 2x screws and feed plug end through) and into odb socket in fusebox.

Nice one Lorryman, I was going to do that but was worried with the sun hitting it ( manual says it don't like heat and light) and putting it above made it less noticable to scumbags in shottingham.
