So... back in July 2022 I had a shock break, the threaded rod brod leaving the shock absorber dangling... so I got a new pair of shock and got them fitted.

Well, today (15.2.23) it's been an eventful day...
A couple of weeks or so ago, I had my colleagues at work say they found a lump of metal where I park... after checking, I found it to be the top part of the rear spring... Click image to enlarge So I headed to my local specialist Oak Tree Garage in Kimpton near Hitchin... after some chats, we decided a new set of springs were needed. I also asked about a knocking noise that recently started... turns out it's my front double cardon prop shaft ππ«π€¦πΌββοΈ so ill need to buy another one of them too... So I rang Glyn Lewis in Wales for some help getting the right springs and a prop shaft. I went for their MEGA EXTREME double cardon prop, it's fully serviceable, so was the best bet, even though it was 3-4x the cost of a normal one. And It turned out that because I have a lift kit from the old brand Scorpion, it won't be that easy to just get springs... after some tooing and throwing, we decided the best bet was to go for a standard set of 110 springs. So I went on to LRPARTS.COM. and ordered me a set of terrafirma rear springs.... Anyway, a short while later and the parts are delivered and I head to the garage to change the parts over... The new MEGA EXTREME prop from Gwyn Lewis went on a treat and just at the right time too, the old one was disintegrating.. and about to fail. It turns out that the previous owner has fitted defender 90 springs...π€·πΌββοΈ I've already ordered the right ones, so will get them fitted when they arrive... Ouch you've had some unfortunate events.. but those shiny parts look great!
I remember considering the Glyn Lewis props on a prior Landy a number of years ago, but it would have been overkill for the use. Does look very nice I must admit |

You canβt fit 90 rear springs to a 110, unless someone has changed the spring seats on the chassis? They are a different diameter.
Or do you mean wrong in terms of spring rate? |

Yup. They fitted a scorpion suspension kit. Which has springs from a 90... π€·πΌββοΈ

The spring seats are welded to the chassis - did they change those to fit the narrower 90 springs?
It would be a very odd thing to do. |

Click image to enlarge I know you have the Pin Pin Rear Shock Absorbers but I noticed the bottom has a washer either side of the bushes. Mine only have 2 per side top and bottom, should there be 4 or is that provided by the cups on the axle? Goodness. When I was a newbie Defender owner I so so so soooooo wanted the Scorpion Extreme suspension kit  Wasn't it a knock off of the Equipe kit?! rings a bell. |
