Checked the maths twice..........33.8 mpg
I have'nt checked the MPG for a few tanks and the last 4 have been using 2 stroke.

Anyway, normal mixed driving and not trying to be frugal it did 33.8. And yes the engine does sound and feel a lot smoother using the 2 stroke oil but I never thought i'd get such good MPG Razz BM52

I think we need to define the conditions around this.

Was it all down hill?
Did you have a tail wind the whole way?
Was most of the jorney on the back of an AA lorry?
And finally were you trying to kill time after finding that last orders has already been called? Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Russell

I have used Castrol Actevo 2T and about 220 ml per 3/4 tank fill up....ish. Didn't measure exactly.

didn't notice much difference until after the 2nd tank full... the engine is much quieter and doesn't smoke at all. BM52

BM52 this is interesting what made you decide to add 2 stroke to your fuel, in theory its a realy good lubricant which its hard to imagine would do much harm but could add lubrication to the rings/bore, and fuel system. Having owned many 2 stroke engines its amazing they dont sieze up especially in high powered off road bikes and the such. I guess one risk must be that it could add to carbon build up in the combustion chamber but i will be watching your comments closely to see how it goes. Anyone have any other fuel additive feed back?

it would be interesting to understand what your driving style is like.

if like myself on my last two journeys (bristol and reading returns from b'ham) where I feel I've been luck to have not caused an accident or been imprisoned for creating a rolling road block on the M'way Very Happy while undertaking a test into fuel economy.....

any got someway to go before the red light / bong bong comes on and I've already done 440 miles !

reckon I'm going to get at least another 30 miles before the red light which would suggest close to 500 miles if I run it dry !!

not done the maths yet but I'm guessing thats pushing 35 mpg ?

My driving could be described as a tad 'progressive'. i don't race or rally the Puma but i don't hang about either. i certainly don't crawl along. one thing i do do it let the torque do all the work, i hardly ever thrash the engine, it rarely goes over 3k revs.

Robert - have a look a this thread, this is the main reason i tried it out and the article Kez's post

I've managed pretty much at least 30mpg on my last 6 tanks... Thats not exactly driving it like an old boffer either. Think a lot of it is knowing when the engine is happiest, I tend to keep it between 2 and 3000rpm as much as possible. Thats where most of the torque is and it can still keep up with the rest of traffic with ease.

Seems to run the best on diesel bought from the BP garage on Ripon Rd in Harrogate though. True that!

up at 462 miles and still no red light yet ! - still not done the maths yet either but suspect I'll be able to get 500 out of tank...

last time i did a full tank it was about 65 ltrs so that works out to be 35 mpg if I get 500 miles....not so bad huh ?

Is there any negative side-effect to using the 2 stroke? If not then why isn't it being used more widely and why isn't it advised?

Decent two stroke oil ain't cheap. I was advised by all corners against putting hortitcultural machinery grade, 2 stroke oil in my SAAB 2 Stroke the alternative proper stuff is very pricey Rolling Eyes
