South Africa 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Keswick Green
Read View Mirror Broke...?
Just finished fitting my new Alpine Head unit/sub/speakers and switch fro spots to my Puma.

Re-fitting the dash, but the Rear vie mirror was in the way for checking that no wires gets pinched.

Took the ball off, but when I re-fitted it something in the inside broke off or clipped off....

Now everything is loose. I can risk taking out the mirror, but if that brakes I'm screwed......

Any ideas???

Or I should buy a new one.....? where?

I had the same problem few month ago when I changed the mirror arms of my Defender.

As Grockle said the spring clip should be broken and any repair will las just few weeks.

In my case happens when I mount the mirror incorrectly. Inside the mirror have a metal plate that should be attached to the plastic mirror body by 2 flaps. If this piece fails to be in good position, all the force made by the adjusting bolt going to the plastic part and broke the clip.

So, new mirror is needed. The alternatives one are not expensive at all.

Cheers! Eduardo
