Bubbling paint? Rust?
Hi all,

During the first wash/wax of spring, I noticed what looks like some paint bubbling on my 110:

Compared to the other side, where there is none!

Also - the exhaust support bracket looks like it is from a 20-year old car:

Are these things that I should bring up with the dealer?

I had the hinges re-painted under warrantee. The rule is that corrosion must be from under the paint. When I complained to Marshalls of Cambridge that a piece of paint had fallen off, about 1cm x 2cm, leaving bare metal they just said no way. We had a few words but they wouldn’t fight my corner. So out with the Hammerite again.

Oh joy... didn't think about those. I can hardly wait to see what I find!

The front bumper is really rusty on the interior, and laters of it are starting to peel away. Strange, as I thought that waxoyl would've protected it. Oh well...

Thanks Eutek - I think Laughing

Checked my windscreen clamps this afternoon, drivers side fine, passenger side bubbling up nicely.

No problem with my mirror arms, yet !

The dealer can sort the clamps along with the headlamp bezels when it goes in for its two year service in June.

WHen i sold mine, i noticed that my passengers hinge was as yours is but at the bottom.

WIndow Catch as yours and replaced

Load tie downs, also similar - replaced

Headlamps bezels replaced

Mirror arms i always wiped with waxoyl (clear) when cleaning as i did with the rear cross member - kept it perfect.

exhaust needs to be falling off to replace under warranty Mike

Stupid thought - would powder coating be better ?

Also, Croytec do replacement windscreen clamps but I think they are silver only and mine is Galway Green.

I have some (mostly) surface rust on various bits; what should I expect the dealer to replace/repair and what should I treat? Apologies for the non technical descriptions.

The minor problems are the black bits, as in the bumper, folding steps, brackets and plates under the bonnet etc.

The more worrying things, to me, are parts of the steering between the front wheels, the drive shaft thingme front and back. The bonnet hinge bracket attached under the windscreen and the bracket inside the bonnet to hold the bonnet open. These could be more serious looking at the long term.
