Hi mate,
best bloke I know off is thewaxworks.net in Northumberland. Do a search on google. Dead reasonable on price and quality is awesome. Couple of my pals have had there 90's done and they are delighted with the results. |

Lorryman100 ,
Could you give us your view of the work once complete , over spray , coverage etc...etc... I was looking at their website and it looked really good but then found some unhappy customers when searching around. Your always going to get unhappy customers so a current view from a trusted party would be great. Will do, I have done a little research on whom to do the work and for the price the waxworks will do everything that I want done. And if it goes tits up then I have only spent a fraction of what the other main waxoyl companies charge in relation to the negative feedback they too receive

Well, left the house Wednesday morning at 5am and arrived at waxworks at 7.40 am. Simon the owner turned up 5 mins later and took the landy straight in. We then spent the next hour talking about classic cars and motorbikes (he has a very nice Beamish Suzuki). I asked what the waxoyl process was and he starts off by thoroughly washing the underside, once that's done he waxoyl's the doors, bulkhead and pillars. Then the landy goes inside and is thoroughly dried with a heater. Next the loose rust is wirebrushed off before coating any rust in Brunox Epoxy Convertor. The underside is then waxoyl'd and left to drip whilst he comes and collects me. So as there is nowhere to wait I hired a car for the day from a local business and then spent the next 6 hours in it in the car hire car park, didn't turn a wheel. Instead I had took my laptop so watched a film or two, plugged in the dongle and had a look on here and finally ended up kipping for an hour or two (not easy in a Chevrolet Kalos ![]() ![]() Went out today and hand washed the landy with hot soapy water and micro fibre cloths. Found some spatters of waxoyl but nothing like what I was expecting and they soon came off. Also took the opportunity to closely inspect the underside and stick my hand into box sections etc to check everything was covered, it had ![]() Overall for £370, I am delighted with the outcome. Only downer was the distance and waiting in a hire car for the job to get done, admittedly I could have went somewhere or took the train into Newcastle for the day ![]() Simon also said that if you use him let him know you are on this forum and he will give you a further 10% discount.... ![]() |
