Adventure Overland Show
Was great to see so many Defenders at the Adventure Overland Show last weekend, despite the lousy weather! Had great fun and caught up with a few d3 and expedition ready members!

Legin - there are normally a number of 4x4 Tag Along Tour companies at Adventure Overland Show. Also meet lots of good friendly people.

Can also try joining Expedition Ready Defenders
- lots of good advice on there?

Hi Legin

There are usually a few Tour guides at the show.

I’m going to Galicia with Off road adventure travel in September.

PM if you need any info.

Mark

Spain isn't too scary to do yourself if you wanted to and there are guidebooks available.

Alternatively I can recommend https://www.kuduoverland.co.uk/ who I've travelled with before and do quite a few trips in Spain depending on which bit you're interested in.

Guided tours are a completely different experience to self guided. I've done trips by myself, led small groups (me plus one other) and larger groups, been on organised trips and randomly bumped in to people that happen to be heading the same direction as me. All are good in their own way. It's nice to have some company in the evening though, that's a significant advantage of joining a tour for me.

If you want to know more about leading yourself, I've posted in another thread fairly recently or drop me a PM.

Thanks cupboard I have done Trophee Cevenol, Croisiere Blanche and 1000 Riviers many times over the years and now want some thing a little slower as the Puma is not as set up as my old 200TDi and I think Northern Spain could be the place but Spain is all new to me so would still like to be guided also I would like to hotel /B&B rather than camp which means the wife would come with me .My old Defender on the way back from France .

One of the best things when travelling is local knowledge. Try contacting the local 4x4 clubs and see what advice etc will be forthcoming. See if you can team up on a club run or attend the local/national club event.

In Galicia some of the tracks are closed during the summer due to fire risk etc.

Local knowledge is normally best as they will have a more up to date angle.
