Building a roof tent crane
Since my wife is too short (not in general, only for this) and most of my neighbours are having back trouble, I didn't know how to put our new 60KG-roof tent on top of the Defender. The garage is just high enough for the Defender, no space left for a roofrack nor a ceiling-mounted lift, meaning I have to take off/put on the tent several times a year.
After a lot of thinking I've decided to build a removable gallows.

I really hope this is going to work, I'm almost there! How are you guys mounting your roof tents?

I’m lucky enough to have a tree with a handily placed branch
I use the roof rack of the 110 as a platform to reach it to put a sling over it then attach a 2 ton chain winch
Then pop the 110 out of the way, winch up the tent and shift the car back under it
Remarkably faff free , but unless you luck out with an obliging tree this might not be a lot of good for you
