I fitted the Mud one.
Combination of a reciprocalting saw ( perhaps not a good choice- mine is on or off - a speed control would have really helped & a jigsaw. Took me about 3 hours mainly on my hands & knees - not comfortable. You do get a lot of Ali swarf all over the place. A second person with a vacuum would help immensely to minimise this. Loads more room & a smart finish- much better than the total removal in my opinion. May your life be like toilet paper ; long & useful. |

I am considering doing the mud bulkhead removal but would appreciate seeing the work involved and the tools required before I start. Does anyone have a link to the instructions of how to do it.
Does it fit above the existing stiffening section? How does it fit at the ends, does it brace the tub nice and firm. How much does it take out on the width? The comments about it look good but I have only just got the 90 and the good lady goes into a panic when I buy something then start hacking into it! I need as much info as I can so I can decide if to do it or not. I don't have an issue working with metal, just like to be 120% prepared. Thanks in advance for any help. M |

Ah, seen it. Thanks pal, I really appreciate your help.
I am pretty sure I can handle that (though probably spoke too soon!). |

I managed to do the MUD one a few years ago, would describe myself as competent DIYer. Nothing overly complicated, but IIRC a decent pop riveter would be handy, eg lazy tongs. I had the plier type which worked but gave my hands a bit of a workout. Still, I survived and would definitely do it again. I wanted the seat distance increased which this does, plus retains a bit of bulkhead to keep loose stuff in the rear. I then fitted a home made cage/dog guard to keep poochie in the rear.

The bulkhead removal bar allows your seats to rake further back but to get the seat base to push further back as well you need to fit the Mud (or other supplier) seat rails which give you up to 4" of further travel.

I've fitted the MUD version and their riser rails, with a pair of Exmoor Trim modular seats. I am 6' tall and wouldn't want the seat any further back than it goes. This is in a Td5, which has more room than the later Puma models. |
