United Kingdom 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Santorini Black
I've bitten the bullett
My faithful old D3 has finally been signed over for a 110 station wagon XS in black, i loved the old girl to bits, and cannot fault her in any way, but as she will be 4 years old in March, and before the big bills start rolling in, i thought i would go for a part ex against an 11 plate. Embarassed Embarassed

And as a result i've been reading this forum as a guest over the last week, and recognize a few of the old names from the D3 site, which is good news i hope, as my decision hopefully has been a wise one. Razz Razz Razz Steve

Busboy; I'm considering doing the very same thing. No question the D3 is quiet, smooth, comfortable blah blah BUT I am also starting to see some bills on my 2006...and it's a bit boring (the car, not the bills). There's no real soul to it. I don't do the motorway miles I used to and I think the Defender is one of those cars you have to own before you cark it.

I may well regret it Smile

Defenders have a lot of soul. Is a kind of give and take, you look after it and it will look after you when you need it too. ===================================

Wise choice, little depreciation, less to go wrong, and they are so much more engaging and adaptable than a car Wink Nobody looks twice at a Discovery Wink

I'm getting a bit fed up with the various electronics warning too - 'Transmission Fault', 'Special programs not available', 'Transmisson fault' etc etc. Shut down and re-start cures it but it's still unnerving when you're somewhere remote.

And whatever happend to wind-up windows for God's sake? Laughing

Busboy, having done just the same thing you will initially wonder what the heck you've done. It's cramped, slow, noisey and has no road manners.

But after a few weeks of no bing bong, ding ding ding and the ability to throw anything in it. Coupled with the owner waves and your own sense of well being, you know it was right Thumbs Up

Me too, you won't regret it, a big change from a D3 and a different sort of drive, but as previously said the D3 promising to have a few big bills in store, a bit boring once the novelty of the gadgets wears off (how many times do you need to adjust the seats after all Whistle )

Had mine now for 1200 odd miles and couldn't be happier really.

Welcome to the D3 converts section Thumbs Up

Sounds like you need a new battery fella! Smile Had the same things repeatedly coming up on my D3 when I had it.....amazing what a difference a new battery makes! lol

Good choice though. I miss my Def (s) like mad. Mark
