300tdi fuel leak from injection pump.
Afternoon all. I’m just doing some bits to my 300tdi and noticed a leak from the back of the injection pump. Everything seems nice and tight so am wondering if it’s an internal seal. What do you helpful lot think?

It’s seems to be leakin from the back of the torxs bolt (see picture)

Thanks Chris.

Assuming none of the pipe unions are leaking, it could be the o-ring that goes between the distributor head housing and the main body of the pump. Lower right on this diagram:

I’m having an identical issue on mine at the moment. Did you ever find the problem in the end?

Every time I’ve had a problem with the pump leaking it’s been the large o-ring sealing the high pressure side of the pump. There is a cheap kit from dieselgeek that solves the problem nicely. Their kits are intended fir the VW Tdi, but the pump is the same. Can be a bit fiddly to install but there are some tricks.

Check it's not dripping down from where the leak off pipe goes back into the FIP. The rubber tube gets old and splits.

Hi Folks got a similar problem , saw leaking diesel from that side of the engine, looked on net and thought it might be the rear of the injector pump , but no leak there , when running coming from timing cover, took the wading bung out to find a good pint of diesel, so timing belt kit ordered, does anyone know if what the seal part number or where to get one for front of injector pump , if it makes any difference its a 200 tdi version 2014 2.2 90 hard top , Warm M8000 , Scorpain winch bumper, Ashcroft rear atb
