2011 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 ST Santorini Black
1949 series 1
Called at our local branch of Howden Joinery today and was met by this little beauty. Only two previous owners and is dry stored. Cool

I didn't get the real thing but came away with a few model replicas. I have two of these kindly donated by Conrad at Howdens Huddersfieldto auction at the Mud summer meet listed in the events section. Money raised will go to the charity of Kev's choice. If you are not attending but would like to bid then either contact me or Kev at Mud.

A lovely thing, let down only by the person who is too stupid to figure out how to close the rear curtain correctly!

Being picky (sorry) but those bulkhead side lights don’t look right, although I may be wrong. I wonder who made the canvas as I don’t recall there being cut outs where the rope hooks are Question

Watch out you two, you're turning into rivet counters! Clever to spot the mistakes though.

Don't Howdens have two? James

My original '53 canvas has those cut outs and I believe that to be correct, but the bulkhead sidelights are not right, they should have chrome bezels. Originals are (I believe) very hard to find so it may be that they simply haven't been able to find any.

Maybe the bulkhead lamps are incorrect and the tilt not quite right but who wouldn't like this pair in their garage? Thumbs Up Defender 90XS SW

I have to say I have never seen the cut outs in the canvas before, but you learn something everyday. NOS sidelights are virtually unobtanium but there were some repro one being offered not too long ago, apparently they were also fitted to some Rolls Royce cars back in the day and possibly other marques as well.

They are very nice 80’s.
