At your highest price a litre would be $0.64 which is £0.47 so 1 gallon over here would be £6.36 or $8.57 roughly so your $2.90 is very low. Ray

I remember the late 1960's when you could get 4 gallons (18 litres) for £1 plus Green Shield Stamps. 5.5 pence per litre.

A US Gallon is only 3.7854 litres. On account of US Pint being a mere 16 fl oz rather than the proper British Pint of 20 fl oz. Unless they have a second gallon just for fuel? |

Why are fuel and food prices rising?
10 years ago the £ was worth almost 2 USD, before that referendum 1.55-1.6 USD today about 1.33 USD. Oil is priced in USD so stripping out supply/demand variations fuel will cost us more in £ Remember 10 years ago was the financial crash. Before the referendum the £ was about 1.4 euro today about 1.13 euro. Britain imports about 40% of its food much of that from Europe. So with the £ down about 20% against the USD and the euro in the last 2 years it is hardly surprising fuel and food prices are rising. Brendan |

Just wait until Trump's Iranian sanctions take hold then you'll see fuel prices increase even further
