Puma 2.4 software update woes using Faultmate
I have a Puma 2.4 130 dual cab and have being trying to update software to the last version in preparation for a remap. I am using a Faultmate msv2 nano. I have the correct files needed and loaded without any problems many times in FF Loader. Every time i try the write i receive message " VSE 023 user error the maps are for. the vehicle reports puma 2.4 fitted. please transfer the correct maps and try again." I am very sure the files completely correct. The Faultmate is 12 months old . I have used three different computers. I have reloaded,rebooted,reinstalled many times.

possibly a daft question but is there any advantage in having the most recent map installed if you're going to change it anyway?

Not really the answer you're looking for but to my mind it's adding an additional obstacle in the way?

Hello Yes it is , the remap will only be supplied to the last or current version of EMS software for the vehicle.

I had assumed that re-maps (incl) mine were a complete new file and required the injector codes for example and not just a 'patch' for want of a better description.

I hope someone will be along soon to assist. Thumbs Up
