My BAS kit is arriving on Monday, cannot wait Whistle

What would you guys advise with regards to the remap?

Also, how likely is it that my dealer will allow me to put in a bigger intercooler without voiding the warrant? --

I assume you have tried other rempas or engine tweacks (eg. autologic, Td5alive, etc) in order to state that BAS is the only one that can give you such performance. Puma 110" SW

I think that each of the main tuning specialists give their customers what they want in their remap. dgardel is happy with his Bas remap as I am with mine from Alive Tuning. There are forum members with tunes from other companies and they are happy with their remaps. So what is the big deal about who's is best? In my opinion the Alive tune is best! How so I hear you ask? Because it is the only one I have and have tried and therefore it's the best one IMHO. Had I gone for the BAS remap then the answer would be the same for BAS. Or for any other tune I could have purchased. After all I would have spent £600 odd quid on it Whistle

But that's not the issue here, is it? The issue seems to me to be about that if you are a member of this forum and you want a remap you have to use BAS as his is the best! Really? And how do you back this up? Because looking through previous posts I was not led to believe this was the case, flat spots come to mind amid other things, try a search. Now this is not a slur or personal attack on Pete, it is me using a public forum to help me decide what to do with, and when I need help with my Landy. The thing I can't get my head around is that members have posted problems with their BAS remaps stating how unhappy (do a search) they are yet still blow smoke up his ass in defence of his product. Is this a public forum or an extension to the BAS site? I posted a thread on me getting the Alive tune http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic5548.html which stated how happy I was with my choice stating the great service I received as a customer for the benefit of anyone looking to purchase a remap which was then hijacked and turned into a slagging match on whose got the biggest willy, Alive or BAS. To say I am getting bored and fed up with the aggression received and posts read on this topic, it's starting to make landyzone sound like Sunday school in comparison to this site.

Like I said I have nothing against BAS aka Pete or his products, expertise or insight into all things Landy. I would just like to see some parity on this a public forum whom uses multiple site sponsors.

Now this is all my personal view which a lot off you will disagree with I'm sure. But as it is a public forum feel free to comment, even though I may not agree with you, can we at least keep it civil?

EDIT: Off to work now, looking forward to reading your replies when I get home at 1am.

Well as Pete has posted synonym graphs on the forum proving there is no flat spots ??
Mine doesn't have any !
It only does 90mph !!!
Oh but iforgot to mention that I'm running 35inch tyres and it probably weights about 400-500kgs more ?
But let's say on 35s at 70 your actually doing 78 !!

And IMHO I think the BAS is beat just like lorryman thinks Alive is best once again though I havnt tried any other
Also everbodys tune will be different I have a itg filter huge intercooler which came from Gary at alive! A full decat no boxes system from Janspeed way before anyone else had done one also let's not forget mine is a full out offroader !
So yes everybody's vehicles will be different because just like us were all different ??
We all react differently
I honestly think that enuff is enuff when it comes to slagging off the tuning company's ?

We're all lucky to be members of a great forum with great suppliers/sponsors or both such as Alive, BAS and many others and for the most part we all enjoy great service both before and after sales from all those Suppliers who share the same kindred spirit as the rest of us, whether yours is a full blown off road demon or a tarted up Tarmac basher like mine. I don't know whose map is best or whose untold tales are worse - and I don't really need to! I have used several suppliers to make my car go faster and I'm perfectly happy with them all !! Thumbs Up
