TD5s with Puma bonnets
I have seen both 90 & 110 TD5s (presumably) with the "bump" bonnet that Puma TDCis have. These vehicles have the TD5 console & dash, are pre 07 (usually 05, 55, 06, 56) & also have the flat steering wheel hub.

Was there a time when TD5s were sold with the "bump" bonnet, before they were phased out for the Puma, or are the vehicles I've seen using owner-replaced bonnets? Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

Thanks. There must have been a scarcity of flat bonnets, or they only went to an official LR dealer...

Perhaps the extra space helps engine cooling too. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

I used not to like them as a spare wheel could not be mounted due to the bump, but now I look out for other Pumas (& who pays the "window" tax) - more are around now. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. I prefer the older bonnets. Maybe I am alone but more spare TD5 ones for me in the future.
