That type of tow bar is pretty much the standard here in Aus with some variety of makers including LR. Hayman Reese is the make I have on mine. Below are the search results from their website www.haymanreese.com.au

Thanks for the link, although I suspect shippings costs from Australia could be prohibitive, I see they have no European distributor yet.

If anyone else knows where I can one of these towbars can they let me know?

Thanks.

We can't get the UK tow hitches over here for the Defender as they aren't approved by the various government departments or some such rubbish. So LR have always sourced a local one for the Defenders. The H/Reese one Foz mentions is basically duplicated by ARB and TJM so you may be able to get it from ARB UK. Also they come up on eBay from time to time, mate bought one for AU$200 the other month. I should also point out they do stuff your departure angel a little. 110 2.4TDCi

You will probably find they are not type approved for the UK so illegal too. Mike

The standard Land Rover towbar is a plough.

The NAS one looks ok but I would like to find a better system than the Dixon Bate drop plate as this pushes the whole thing out even further, I saw one with a NATO hitch, Dixon Bate and NAS bar and it stuck out about 18 inches.

If I could find one of these 50mm box section towbars at least I can fit various fittings without losing too much departure angle.
