It's on new purchases only, you shouldn't be affected.
Except for the typical normal standardised VEL rises as expected, the good news is fuel duty has been not increased from April onwards. Which was planned, but has now been stopped / pushed back. _\Hennessey|Venom| F5/___ ___\âï¸Lone|Star|State/___ ____\We|Will|Win/___ ____/🇬🇧🇺🇸\____ _//*⛽ï¸ðŸ›¢ï¸âš™ï¸ðŸ§°*\\_ |

The government had already set out plans for ved bands and benefit in kind rates for company cars up until 20/21 and the idea is the uk fleet will be cleaner by then . The budget builds on that and everything will then be reviewed and changed again from 21 onwards. As the fleet gets cleaner the government will probably shift the boundaries to make sure the revenue doesn't fall away. HR064 Hampshire and Berkshire 4x4 Response |

My Defender costs me £1.43 a day to tax. Doesn't hurt so much when you look at it that way.

...plus fuel tax at 61%, plus tax on your vehicle insurance at 12%, plus tax on any purchases for your vehicle at 20%. Now left.

what they will do is start something daft like Electic tax for the car or a battery tax. Here is a one for you lads, do you really think owning a electric car is going to be environmentally friendly or cheaper to run? More impact on PowerStation's and you electric bill will jump up like there is no tomorrow too. As I can see the electric companies having a field day. It won't be cheaper but it won't be more expensive either. There is a cost to fuel now and that cost will transfer to your electricity bill.
The simple fact is it will make the air in our major towns and cities cleaner but that pollution will be transferred elsewhere. It is of course far easier and cheaper to capture pollution from 30 or so large power station than it is from 25 million individual power plants. HR064 Hampshire and Berkshire 4x4 Response |

In Scotland, where else?, parking AND charging is free for electric cars, I wonder how long that will last? 2010 Defender 110 Station Wagon, Santorini Black.

I know I'm preaching to the converted on here, but wouldn't it be a good idea to reduce the duty on all vehicles manufactured in the UK.
It would benefit all the drivers that support jobs in this country and be an incentive to manufactures to build our cars here.
