That looks ideal, one of the things that put me off is storing them.
As in the wrong place they could easily kill someone. _\Hennessey|Venom| F5/___ ___\⭐️Lone|Star|State/___ ____\We|Will|Win/___ ____/🇬🇧🇺🇸\____ _//*⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰*\\_ |

Ardsafe looks smart but i think I'd keep catching it with my size 11s!
![]() Mine is always tied down with the disclock using a ratchet strap. As you said it could do serious damage if it was flying around the cab ![]() ![]() Hoping to get a MSS long line drawer to store them in when funds permit! ![]() |

Bought the velcro strap from B & Q probably 15 years ago for strapping an awning to the roof rack

[quote="ginjez"]Had an 'ardsafe for a while now and finally purchased the 'ardsafe from Mud. Fitted it today in the driver footwell together with a velcro strap to stop it jumping out in the event of a crash.
Just need something to secure the disc lock now. Out of interest did you just bolt the safe directly to the seat box but leaving a gap for the mats to be removed? |

Yes, bolted to seat box. I used rivnuts for ease. Floor mat can still be removed.

I like to think ard case got the idea from my simpler and cheaper arrangement (which I emailed to them years ago)!! I simply use 2 staples fitted to the front of the seat box and a couple of cam lock luggage straps. It works fine for me with my size 11 wellies.
The main point of this for me is that it keeps the lock handy which makes it more likely to be used. It has saved my 110 from 2 attempted thefts. ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge 110 Defender 300tdi & Penman trailer with ally exped top and roof tent |

Scott they're RRC3966 a standard part - galv steel. just google it. Originally they were for canvas hood straps but the wolf pattern rad muff and arctic window blinds need them to hold the pvc covers in place.

Thanks Jerry. I'll be stealing your idea for my clutch claw!

Simple linchpin also holds it tight.

After much deliberation and thought of where tostow my Ardcase and having it on the floor for 2+ years with no issue I'm currently working on an open ended box which will be fitted at the top of my seat box so in effect under my knees and secured off the seat runner fixings as I didn't want to be drilling my seat box.
It'll be accessed by sliding it out once out of the vehicle and secured with with either a rubber jack strap or similar or possible a small lip on the bottom of the box. Once done I'll have the box powder coated and lined and will post some pics. |
