I didn’t know Steyr made engines. Their firearms are quite nice.

They may overheat and cook but is that down to operator error or a design flaw. It doesn't tell the whole story, as for buying your own specialist equipment to repair/maintain them I call Censored on that. No one is going to spend their own money to repair company vehicles. He may have used a company credit card to buy some equipment to make maintaining them easier but thats about it.

Looking further down that article it says

In April 2009, the MoD bought 75 Springer All Terrain Vehicles at a cost of more than £7m. They are now being sold for less than £10,000 each.

They are being sold because they are crap. We had 1 at my place in the UK and it was of no use to us, even though it had a 1T payload it was just not suited to the work we conducted. Can't imagine it was any better in theatre 110 D250 SE HT
