Car just switched off and all power lost?
Hello

Strange one just before, driving up a hill in a 30 zone, almost at our house car just loses all power, speedo on zero, power steering gone, luckily stopped OK at side of road. Then re started and all ok literally 1 min from getting home. So not been any further to check?


What's that all about?


As if I had tuned the car off mid driving?

1. start with battery terminals

2. next relays under driver seat (2.4)

3. check wiring engine side for chafing

Was very odd just driving along normally chatting to my little lad almost home and them all just switched off....very odd

Hi Stacey,
I had a similar event years ago.
Problem was too many gizmos on the key ring and the weight turned the key to the off position.

I would agree check the ignitions switch first, power steering would suggest the engine stopped DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,
