td5 alarm

Hello
Can anyone please explain why this happened.
Driving along normally the alarm started operating but the indicators were not flashing. Luckily I was not far from home and continued to reach home with the alarm sounding all the time. I reached home and switched off and the alarm stopped. I restarted and drove into the garage with no noise. I then locked the vehicle (central locking) The locks operated but the indicators did not flash,
Any advice will be appreciated.
