Was at the Emergency Services show at the NEC 20th Sept

Chap on the Land Rover stand actually said

Defender will be out in 2 years time with 20 different variants on a completely new platform

I said that was uneconomical

and also the Discovery he was trying to sell me looked bloody ugly from the rear and a complete after thought. It wasn't a friendly conversation and he wasn't 't aware the budget was to buy 15 of the things

We are buying Mitzi L200 instead of the Land Rover, which shows where LR market is these days

I fail to see how any company would build a new platform for one model and then offer 20 variants, it is financial suicide
Happy to be enlightened though

I'm fairly convinced LR are either intentionally or unintentionally feeding false rumours to mask the real information or they actually still don't have a clue themselves!

I do like the D5 SVX though! If I ever find a spare £100k I'd have one in a shot! James
