Doesn't it indicate 'I'm about to break down and need a tow' ?
I saw a Suzuki jeep with said rope.... It unraveled enough for him to run over it and it ripped his bumper off ![]() |

It was like the willys jeep.
Must admit dont like the look of either of those. I'd pictured myself as a bit like Indiana Jones in a jungle setting - not much jungle around here though. ![]() |

Destroys the rope though. Grit gets embedded in the rope, then when under tension the grit cuts fibres in the rope, weakening it. The UV light can also degrade ropes.
Should always keep rope dry and clean, once it is used, clean when possible and dry. 80" 1948 Lightweight V8 Bowler Tomcat 130 Station wagon 90 300tdi (Santana PS10 pick up) Range Rover L322 (Ful fat) |

This is how I carried my front rope when playing in my S111, not for show but to allow easy access when stuck deep in the gloop. A similar rope was attached to the NATO hitch on the rear and went into the back through the open rear (tailgate when off-roading, safari door when daily driver).
The picture of my old 101 shows how handy it was to store the rope nice and high! Showing my age now, the photo of my S111 was probably taken in about 1989 and the 101 about 3-years later.
