I have now solved the problem.
The tube by the motor wasn't fully inline with the wiper box so its now firmly in line, I managed to twiddle the outside spindles to feed the rack through more then I attached the motor. Very fiddly way to do it but at last I can now use my wipers again after nearly a week! Thanks guys for the help. I will post photos of the motors position (vertical) so other people who have this problem know what it looks like. Oh I also managed it without taking the drivers side blower off which was starting to get to me. Thanks again Tim 2001 90 TD5 CSW Alveston Red Manual |

If you've gone to that length, do the whole job and replace the wheel boxes too - they will give you problems in the long run. I posted a full write up on the job with photos on here. I can't remember exactly what it's called, but search for the likes of 'wiper replacement 2004' and it should come up. Not a difficult job, you were most of the way there.
