1984 Defender 90 300 Tdi HT Stornoway Grey

Camshaft lift query

I have just measured the cam lift on my 3.9 V8 engine whilst it is out to see if it is worn.

Here is the confusion...... the spec says .390 inch lift, about 10mm..

Some sites say this is after the rocker ( x1.5) , ie Valve lift and some say , its cam lift

Which is it ? my cam has around 6mm lift , so is it worn badly ? 1984 300TDi hardtop Stornoway Grey
1984 200TDi hardtop..... soon to be a V8 .. but which V8 ?
