XS heated seats & XS Premium high back heated seats func
Just wanted to gain some opinions on the heated seat functionality of TDCI seats.

Amongst various other things, I retrofitted heated seats to one of my defenders today and upon testing it, found they didn't seem to get 'that' hot.

I have the choice of TDCI XS half leather heated seats and the later XS Premium high back full leather heated seats in storage. Both are pretty new. But opted for the latter.

Can anybody chime in whether they should be hot hot or just slightly warm?

Wondering if I'm expecting too much... as my other cars with heated seats can get very hot.

(I appreciate its one of the hottest days of the year but needs must.. Mr. Green Laughing )

I’ve had 3 cars with heated seats, all be it not Defenders.

Focus ST ones got rather warm, Golf GTi ones got unbearably hot and my current BMW ones get warm enough to take the chill of the leather seats.

Personally, I prefer them just warming the seats enough to take the chill off.

I’d guess age of the heating element, manufacturer etc will all play a part in how hot they get.

My XS all leather seat gets hot enough for me to need to turn it off, but not uncomfortably hot.
Certainly better than warm.

Agree with Balvaig. The XS heated seats seem just right for me, I just switch them off once the gonags feel like a pair of roasted chestnuts.

Definitely more hot than warm. Defender 90XS SW

Thank you, appreciate the answers. Both sets of seats are pretty new so not expecting an issue with the elements, I will give them a try when temperature drops a bit so I can notice them.

The other cars have about 6 different heat settings for them which I never use so I'm glad it just a button!

The XS seats in my Td5 (came from our 2012 110) are lukewarm. Better than nothing but that’s about it. My old seats I re-trimmed with an Exmoor kit that included new elements and they were hotter than hot. Charlie
