TD5 low range switch.

I have a 2001 Defender Extreme 110. It includes a switch on the transfer box on low range that alters the ECU behaviour. I find it disconcerting that I have to nearly floor it sometimes in low range to get the response needed for the situation. Is there any downsides if I was to pull the plug on this feature? Nothing suggests poor workmanship like wrinkles in the duct tape.

If I remember correctly this switch dampens the throttle response in low range to avoid rapid changes of engine speed. Useful when bouncing over ruts or tricky terrain and for when you are wearing wellies.
Don't know what would happen ecu wise if you disconnect it, but your throttle response may be too extreme for off roading and become unsafe.
