1998 Defender 90 300 Tdi SW Rioja Red
Many years ago I bought a fiesta van. First week owning it, parked it away from the main entrance of the supermarket. Only other car around was a blue slightly older fiesta, diagonally opposite me. Middle-aged driver was still sitting in it, probably waiting for someone.

Came back not 30 minutes later to find a dent in the door and blue paint on it. I'm not sure how bad someone's life must be if a 3 year old fiesta stirs up that level of jealously in them.

Not had much trouble in the defender though.

One time coming out of the supermarket, saw two women just finishing up unloading their trolley. Then one of them deliberately took the trolley and put it right up against the back door/spare wheel of the def. I didn't even have time to react before SWMBO was over there shouting at them. Their response was to shout abuse at her and then push the trolley one more car further on.

Another time I came out of the same place to find a complete stranger leaning against the car. Or to look at it another way, I returned to find a very kind gentleman, noticing I hadn't cleaned the car for about 8 months, had taken it upon himself to scrub it clean with his back.
