Hi all,
So the lights came in the post today. I have to say I'm impressed so far (haven't plunged them in yet mind). See pictures below:- ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge No details on how to wire up the DRL's, so obviously something i need to research now, but other than that the lights look good. Look good,
Keep us updated on how they are to fit and how good they seem. I upgraded my bulbs and clear lenses but do like the dark colored lights (if that makes sense) Install pics when you do it please |

Hi all,
So LED headlights fitted!!!! Still have to do a drive in the dark, but so far, so good. So Saturday morning, decided to strip out the headlights. I went a leisurely pace, it was a beautiful day and it was nice to be working in the sun ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge Anyway, removed the old lights, at which point realised while I had bought new stainless bezel from MobileCentre, I had omitted to buy the retainers.....anyway, I stripped the headlights out and only needed to replace the little screws that hold the bezels in place. ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge Also, worth mentioning I removed the whole light housing, and stripped it back, I had one headlight adjuster which had taken the opportunity to start playing up (seized), so I have bought a replacement (comes on Tuesday). If I was doing this again, I would buy the retainers as well, only a £5 from eBay. I slathered the old retainers in copper slip, so shouldn't rot any further. So on the new headlights there is a pair of wires for the HALO light, I fitted a econsoeal connector onto the headlight and tested it on my transformer, all good. I don't have the DRL module yet, but its coming, so by putting on a connector, means i will be able to connect it without stripping the headlight back out. ![]() Click image to enlarge At about this point, I became distracted........ I realised that with the headlights out I could sort the loose wing top chequer plates, since the rivets were spinning, so I decided to remove the plates and paint them in gloss black. ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge And became further distracted as the day wore on........ ![]() Click image to enlarge Sunday, assembled everything and tried the lights ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge Night time shots to be done tonight...... So Night drive completed
![]() Am I happy - Yes I am. Better than the old lights I removed, but is it better than a £400 set of JW Speakers or Noldens - No idea ![]() See pictures below, one caveat, I'd like to add, the drivers side beam is pretty much pointing too far down, this is due to the faulty headlight adjuster. I'll take pictures again, once i have the DRL's fitted and the adjuster replaced. Dipped Lights:- ![]() Click image to enlarge Mainbeam & Dipped Lights:- ![]() Click image to enlarge Now this was taken on a wee forrest road close to my house, they faired a lot better (or seemed to) on a wider open road. Also, while I was reasonably careful with my headlight adjustment (I measured the screw heights prior to disassembly) I can tell the right hand light is too far left, which is noticeable when you want to turn right into a dark unlite junction.....I'll get it adjusted by the garage when it goes in for its MOT later this week. For info, the difference between dipped and main beam is basically all the lights on, dipped and main beam. I reckon, once i get my LED light bar and the spot lights on the rack wired up I will have a well lit truck ![]() Cheers Andy Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated ![]() |

I agonised over LED upgrade headlights and decided to buy the britpart Lynx.
I am amazed at how good they are. They have transformed the night time driving experience. OK they probably don't have the output rating as the popular more expensive ones, but honestly as a plug and play upgrade I am delighted with them. Highly recommend.
