59 plate Hard top silver stolen Monday night. Each time no broken glass etc and owners in possesion of keys and plip units. Apparently 6 have been stolen in North somerset over the last 2 weeks. Thanks for info on pedal lock certainly look in to that. When I had problems with my emobiliser it took me 4.5 hrs ,a multimeter and landrover IDS to sort it ![]() 2007 Defender HTop. 1952 Series One 80" 1977 Muir-Hill 111. 2014 Triumph Tiger800xc 1999 Discovery 2 td5 1982 Ransomes TSR300D. 2002 Yamaha XT600e. 2010 Freelander2 (the wifes) 2008 John Deere X140 |

Who cares if its legal or not .Nicking peoples motors is not legal.Perhaps if some of these low life scum bags got a bloody nose as it were they may think twice. As corporal Jones would say" they don't like it up em" Its never over in my land rover.

Hope you don't mind but I'll post this info over on Landywatch, just to help spread the word. In terms of security - a lot depends on what you want to spend. For £100 or so, either of the pedal locks described look pretty good ![]() As a general rule, Thatcham approval of a security product is a good sign ![]() I don't believe that either of the pedal locks mentioned are Thatcham approved yet but that could just be as they're specifically moulded for Defenders rather than a universal security product. I think the guys that make Fekete's were testing it with the German motoring authorities. Anyhow, both of them look a sod to get off and that's what its all about.... make them think twice about even trying to nick it. As another possible deterrent, if you get LROI, December's edition SHOULD have an offer in there for a Thatcham approved window and bodypart marking kit from Retainagroup for around £35'ish. Members on this forum and Landywatch helped shape it's contents... you can read more about it on this link http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic7826.html Trackers are of course an excellent idea but I'd spend the money first of all on theft prevention ![]() |
