Amazon echo dot and Sonos or bose wireless and Hue lights
OK as I'm a nightmare to buy presents for so I've been looking at a wireless solution for the house.

This new..ish echo dot seems good and Sonos seems the 'best' (easiet) sollution to work with it?

I also like the idea I could automate the lights with this also...

I see Bose do wireless speakers but apparently they are not as integrated but I know quality wise are very good?

It seems you can start small, one echo, one sonos and then a bulb (bulb monitor) and then grow

Anyone use this already.

No but I've been looking at the echo as it seems good value.

We've got 3x Sonos Play 1s and a Play 5 in our house, really easy to use and great sound. Sandy

^ Have you thought about the echo dot to work with it?

You can walk in a room and ask it to play a track or radio

Or ask one room to play something and another something else.

I'm tempted to give it a punt

Don't know much about it myself but my lad works on a big yacht that has the Sonos system and thinks it's great

Sound from the Sonos is superb, don't know how they do it. One thing to remember is that it only as good as the wireless network in your house.

Apparently fully in early 2017

However any wireless speaker should work with the echo?

I have the Bose Soundlink speaker as a standalone, so not quite as sophisticated as you are after, but the sound quality is rather special for such a small size.

As you say, this one is not integrated and simply (and reliably) connects individually on Bluetooth, but it suits what we want it for. Quality-wise, definitely very top end.
