2.2 Defender Oil in coolant header tank
On a recent service by DLS they informed me they had detected oil in the header tank. As still under warranty contacted JLR UK to be booked in to a main dealer. 3 weeks later the vehicle was passed to my local main dealer, the earliest they could accept it and NO courtesy vehicle was available!!!!!!

8 days later a pick up the vehicle to discover there answer to the problem was to fit a new oil FILTER housing, replace hoses, flush, fit new header tank and recall in 6 weeks for re clean.

10 mile drive from dealer to home
This morning NO coolant showing in the header tank just about an inch of oil

Rolling Eyes A main dealer isn't going to move heaven and earth to accommodate a non customer and rush to furnish customer with a courtesy vehicle when the sh#t hits the fan. Unfortunately that's one of the drawbacks of using indies while the vehicle remains under manufacturers warranty.
I'm not affiliated to any main dealer but I would feel the same if it were my business.
For a first post it would have been nice to start on a positive.

I understand your comment but of course disagree, if I had moved to the country from China I would not be expected to take it back to China. We are new to the area and forgive me but if a land rover is under warranty it is just that.

The post is factual, if you find it negative Im sorry.

The update by the way is the vehicle had to be returned to the dealer showing no coolant in the header tank, another 20 mile round trip and 2 hours sat waiting for them to finish the job properly, air in the system.

Trying to think of a positive..............coffee was ok Mr. Green

You should call land rover assist before taking back to dealer. If they cannot fix it on the call out you are guaranteed a hire car while it is getting fixed. My dealer advised me to do this when I had similar problem to you (oil in coolant) one time they had no courtesy cars available.

As extend warranty includes hire car cover it is strange the original warranty doesn't unless through LRA.

Mine needed a new oil cooler fitted and all pipes replaced. It also needed a flush out a month or so later. Hope you get it sorted.
