Routing power cables from the battery box to the front bumpe
I'm getting a bit tired of having to keep pulling the front seat about to get a set of jump leads onto the battery. So I've decided I want to run a cable from the battery to the front bumper where I'll fit a 175A Anderson socket. Now I've acquired some 35mm2 cable ready to be bolted to the battery and am about to order the sockets etc.

I know that a few of you have done this be it for winches or jump starting other vehicles and just wanted some help with the cable routing before I cut the cables to length and get them crimped.

Hi Russ,

Bit of an old picture:

But you can just see the red cable going from the fuel cooler to the front. Back from the fuel cooler just pass the cables out through the holes next to the where the earth lead goes.

There are loads of things to secure it to... just make sure it doesn't go over anything sharp, or an edge and you don't cable tie it to anything that might get damaged if put under stress.

If fitting an Anderson connector to the front of the vehicle remember an isolator switch, a cover for the Anderson and a PVC sleeve. Helps keep connector cleaner.

Earth out the back of the battery box, + out the front

Along the top of the chassis rail to keep it out of the way

Up into the top of the wing - done Mike
