One of my jobs for the weekend. X member respray
OK so I have a few new bits heading my way for the Defender Smile

I guess not going to the show due to other commitments this weekend I've sort of saved money?

So I thought spruce up my rear X member, its not bad but catches my eye so would rather have a go at making it neater.

Sanded, sanded, cleaned and de-greased and cleaned again. Hopefully ready for me tomorrow. Shocked Will spend some more time covering the other bits up tomorrow.

Leaving it over night to dry in the carport. Will post my efforts tomorrow.....

Nice job.

I have always wondered, is it an easy job to remove the rear crossmember and then replace it with a galvanised version? Would lots of welding be involved or is it just a bolt off/on job? YOLO... You Only Live Once...

Its a weld job, but if you have a old vehicle chances are the tin worm has eaten alot of it away. "Rafiki" 2007 110 STW - Rolling rebuild.

I did mine 2 weeks ago with Lowe's machinery paint - the lazy way with a brush ! Embarassed And you know what it looks great. Transforms the back which had that light grey and orange hue like they do after a few years.

Thumbs Up looks good Stacey, job well done, it has transformed the rear. Mine is back at Urban at the moment, and they are spraying front bumper and rear crossmember in Santorini. Cheers Simon
