MT82 Input Shaft Seal

Hi all,

I'm installing a MT82 input shaft seal and I do not have the LR special tool to set depth. Does the seal sit flush with the face of the case housing, or is it recessed a few mm? The workshop manual just states to use the tool.

Thanks to Dave Ashcroft for his insight. The oil seal should be installed slightly proud, not flush or recessed.
