In all fairness not many people use CB for general chat these days.

I only use the CB when green laning so the group can keep in contact and no one gets lost (although they invariably do!).

Ade90 - drop me a message if you are planning a laning trip in the Midlands if you don't mind? I'd love to get my 110 on something other than tarmac!

That's the plan, hence putting the CB back in the 90.

I've got my 90 in my garage sorting out a few basics before I tread off the tarmac again. Not surprisingly these mainly consist of oil leaks Rolling Eyes

Then a quick test at a Canock Chase off road tour (simple drive and not much money), before checking my old maps against the latest definitive maps at the Council offices.

When I'm set I'll let you know.....always helps to not go laning alone.....not that I would ever have done something silly like that in the past and got stuck Embarassed Fixing Land Rovers for over 25 years..........and making excuses to the wife for almost as long Smile

If you want to talk to people on the air, then HAM radio is alive. Can be fairly active, but you need a license.
Worth taking if you're at all interested in radio, electronics etc.

As for CB, really only good for green lane runs, but, if you get a reasonable set that supports SSB (single side band), you would be surprised what you can get. It's not unknown for signal reception skipping over from the US.
Do a YouTube search for CB, SSB, Skip.

I was just gonna post the same!

I use a Cobra 75 for greenlaning. Benefit is that you can fit the box under the seat or cubby, as all controls are on the handset.
