I'd be interested in hearing reviews on these too! The standard plastic ones just look terrible and mine have already started to fade!

Didn't MCMA1 fit them on his 110? Or were they Croytec ones? 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone

I know MCMA1 is looking at manufacturing alloy injection moulded door handles at a fraction of the cost of the billet ones.

Thats why I was looking at replacing them! They look far better but most importantly I feel as though they may be more secure (although I may be wrong??).
If you don't mind me asking, how much did they set you back? |

Whoever tried to nick your defender by screwing the lock must be an amateur or thick as they usually go in at the side of the handle so no extra security I'm afraid. Ray My build thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic17615.html |

i have them fitted, pressing the button to open the door is a bit stiffer than i think it should be and not too smooth...
other than that they do look good. |

I think an amateur tried mine or was disrupted!
Likeomg make sure you have adjusted correctly, I had the same issues but after a fair bit of adjustment they really are smooth 2023 Defender L663 V8 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8 (gone) 2010 110 XS Utility 2.4TDCI 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 (gone) 2007 Discovery HSE TDV6 (gone) 1993 110 csw 200 tdi (gone) 1994 90 HT 300 tdi (gone) 1994 discovery 300tdi (gone) 90 hybrid 3.5 v8 (gone) Range rover bobtail 3.5 v8 (gone) |

![]() its a bit of a faff to get too as I've got sound insulation in the doors, maybe one for a rainy day. |

We have fitted them to my wife's 90, I admit for aesthetic reasons as she was after a bit of bling - silver on black. I have to say though they feel really good, solid and add a feeling of quality every time you close/open the doors - hard to explain in a factual way. But I like them so much, that I'm tempted to put them on my 110 in black. Obviously you won't notice on a dark Defender so nothing to do with the looks, but it's that feeling of quality in your hand that is tempting me despite the heavy price tag. I even feel they add a bit of weight to the door and help it shut. Same goes with the fuel cap on the 90, a joy every time you fill in the tank. Beautifully manufactured products. Unfortunately, neither have been on for long enough to comment on the durability - but I had security bonnet hinges and all the vents replaced with Optimil ones in June 2015 and haven't had any issues with those so I'm hoping same goes with the handles and the cap. I ordered a pair of silver ones at Billing for delivery, I would have taken them there & then but they didn't have a matched pair of locks so they were posted and I received them last Thursday.
Was going to take a pair at Peterborough last year but once again they didn't have the matched pair of locks and having just bought a full set of Optimill hinges I thought I had better stop spending! Saw the prototype last year and they were asking for opinions on the shape of the button, I said that I preferred the oval button and luckily I was in the majority as that is the one they went for. ONE LIFE, GET IT! |
