Just fitted a Xenon HID head light kit, what you think ??
As title really,

Ive just fitted one of these kits to my Defender TD5 and im thinking of importing some of these kits if the price and intrest from customers is good.

The kit i have fitted is a HID dip and main kit, i did try just the basic dip kit but it was not to clever so ive ended up opted for the full H4-2 kit which i more expencive than just the dip version.

I thought they change the law to say that retro fitting them was illegal - regardless of having the criteria of self leveling and headlamp washers? Mike

I fitted a set 12 months ago to mine and have been past plenty of Rozzers with my lights on, never been stopped, why are they illegal? I know that there is a lens issue, ie the original lenses are not suitable for xenons, but wipac do a plain glass lens which I would have assumed was OK.

First you have to have self leveling headlight units, you must also have headlamp washer units.

Im sure its vosa that said that reto-fitting was illegal - ill see if i can find it Mike

I have a plan for the electronic self leveling units, LR made a defender head light with electronic MANUAL adjust so im planning on modding it to be automatic.
Or even using a new replacement 7" unit that is designed for HID with the correct lense and backing inside and servo for the leveling using ultrasonics to control it.

Regarding the washers that is simple with a extra pump on the bottle.

Ps i been out playing in the dark im happy with the light gain.

Hi Pete,

Followed you home after the drive out and these seem excellent & very bright/powerful Thumbs Up

Any idea on the cost as yet Question

Kinda think Devon 4x4 are selling them but no doubt they want the earth for a pair Rolling Eyes

Also, I think the 60th model has something like this as standard Question

Russell.

Regarding the washers.........this is only to get Type Approval when the vehicle is manufactured. You can have HID lights without washers if fitted after the date of manufacture.
