Morning all,
Just started the process of replacing my stock seats with Recaros. On lifting the base of the passenger seat I noticed the wiring/cabling as shown in the two photos below. I am about to sell them so was wondering if the wiring means they are heated units? It may be a strange question to ask, but not if I tell you that I have neither the loom nor switches for heated seats, not (as Blackwolf, Languedoc and a handful of others will know), that I need heated seats at the mo. Anyway, if anyone could confirm, I'd be grateful to know as I want to price them correctly. Why would it go into the seat base? My last Def, a newer model than this DC (2.2 vs 2.4) didn't have this wiring... Monsieur Le Grenadier

Some seats have pressure switches in the base to detect body weight (or your wallet)

If you flip the seat upside down and look up the back you would see the wiring run to the seat back with heaters. Or test, sit on the seat when plugged in, then unplug. See if the warning comes on?
Can't trust land rover logic. Just looked at mine, I have the same loom but no heated seats on 2012 |

Interestingly it was already unplugged and I've had no warning lights whatsoever. Will pop back out and look at the back. Monsieur Le Grenadier

Yes, odd. Interesting to hear Languedoc has the same set up.

Definitely heated seat connections. There are no pressure pads in Defender seats

They look to me like fittings that were only available from the Special Vehicles dept. If you flick the top of the gearstick is there a red button?
