Now I've calmed down and the red mist has cleared, it was an easy fix. I realised the bare wire is just an earth for the stalk and it was the actual button on the end that had stuck down is I was trying to push it into the splined hole.

I had the same thing with my daughter (4) - it was a relief when I realised it just pushes back in

You're lucky the plastic receptacle didn't crack.
That's not so fun... Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |

I had the little earth wire break on mine so I had no washers.
I had to pull the lever out to refit the wire. There is not a lot of length on the switch wire, I see your looks intact. Good to hear it's fixed, enjoy the trip. Cheers, Kyle. |
