2010 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Santorini Black

Check Temp Reset?

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know if it is possible, and if so how, to reset or calibrate a Check Temp? Mine is over reading by a factor of at least 2 on the external sensor (nice balmy 29 degrees C in Cornwall today! I wish 😎 )
I have tried disconnecting the battery so no power is getting to it but on reconnecting the battery it is still over reading. The reading varies so it is not just "stuck". The interior temperature seems correct. I have checked the sensor and cable and all seems ok with no obvious damage.

Any ideas?

Don't know the specific meter but if the sensor is an RTD ( resistive ) then a high resistance connection somewhere would give it a positive offset

Thanks for the reply, the gauge is a Check Temp II, quite a few forum members have fitted them, problem is the sensors and cabling is in one harness so I don't think the external sensor can be swapped out, can't think of any reason why the resistance would have increased as there are no joints to go bad.
