Gibraltar 2010 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Baltic Blue
Ignition key problem
My CD player and my air condition was working as normal then it started to switch off both l new has be electrical but could find what it was until l release that the the broble minute is coming from the ignition. Do l need a new ignition or can l change something from the inside of the ignition. I have a land rover and love it.

2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Stornoway Grey
Sounds like the ignition switch needs replacing. If you replace the whole barrel lock assembly, you will need new keys so only replace that if you barrel lock is worn.

Same symptoms on mine, the radio has no power and is turn on to a 1 hour operation mode. As for the A/C you may find that the A/C switch and system still works as evidenced by the light on the switch but it is rather the blower motor switch that is not getting power hence no air from the vents.

quick question whisky..do you keep your defender ignition key on a ring with a lot of other keys? Heavy weight on the key can cause premature wear inside the barrel...
