Windscreen Stone Chip
Some charming stone flew up on the way back from our little trip away at the weekend Evil or Very Mad

just above the 1 oclock position off the steering wheel.

Chip and about to cracks of 1.5cm and 1 cm eitherside.

My question about repairing or replacing, its got a heated screen, will the chip have damaged the elements such that is should plan for replacement, or is repairing the way to go?

I know if you repair the windscreen ifs effectively free, but what about replacing on insurance, i have protected no claims on all the other 3 cars except this one as this has its own new insurance, dont mind paying £50 for the excess but... Mike

A windscreen claim does not affect your no claims bonus.
Get a new screen m8 , they never look the same when repaired.

Pluss it will actualy take them longer to repair on a defender than replace it i had one in mine a few weeks agao on my insurance.

Did you go to them direct or contact insurance company first? Mike

I went straight to my insurance who gave me a screen places number to ring which was Autoglass York.

But when i have screens fitted in the past ive also done it the other way round and gone direct to the screen place who just take a copy of my insurance and deal with it there selfs.

Regards Pete
