Mouldy carpets
Does anyone have a solution to stop the mouldy carpets ?
I have a MY15 defender xs I have just lifted the front and rear rubber mats and the carpets are soaking the rear one is from the bulkhead towards the rear of the vehicle about 12" is white with mould gutted .

The car has covered 10k all road never been off road

I got sick of mouldy damp carpets and I took mine out and put them in the cat hotel for the hobo cats to sleep on. Yep. Seriously.
If you have rubber mats, then the carpet is pretty redundant anyway. They will deaden some noise, though that's easily rectified.

No kidding. Horrid stink when they get wet. Ripped mine out over Easter and am half way through fitting new rubber matting. Looks great and the road noise has reduced by about 50%...

Spend some time tracking down the areas that are letting the water in,get dealer to seal them (or do it yourself) and just fit loose rubber mats which can be removed every few months to check for any issues.
