Should only be a couple of days for postage, I'm sure the last one I ordered came from abroad and it was with me in no time

There are a few of us who've got shot of their Disco II's in favour of their Defenders

Except when it's the hose that runs to the front of the block gone porous. Can't buy the hose separately!! |

Hopefully mines ok, I can see the fuel dripping out of the hole in the round bit at the back ![]() |

My kit arrived from Spain guessing it took about 10 days to get here but was only £20 approx.
Today was the first chance I've had of repairing the FPR so I listen to advice from others. Got small steps out for offside of motor [so much easier when high enough to see]. Covered offside wing with old dust sheet. Removed engine cover [3 bolts] Removed engine lifting point [2 bolts] Removed the three hoses, one by pulling back sleeve, other two un-bolting? Removed electrical plug, tricky if you don't know how ![]() Un-did the three bolts to remove FPR, bottom one not to hard if up on steps. Fitted new round bit in end [circlip] Replaced "O" rings on ends of three pipes. Grabbed one of the two metal gaskets supplied in kit and put it all back together again. Started engine and it dripped now in a different place. Oh Bu*ger ![]() Stripped it all back out again and discovered I'd used the wrong gasket, they are quite similar other than the little raised bits that get sqashed down take a slightly different route. What a plonker! Put it all back together again and over-tightened one of the pipe entry points and broke the fricken casting, looks like the thread on that pipe is only held on by a couple of turns, anyhow working left handed in a tight gap I f*cked it up. Now got to buy the whole thing [over £120], Bank Holiday so can't get it, don't have another motor so stuck in with a none to happy family and we live in the middle of nowhere. Take what you will from this, job isn't hard if you ain't cack handed, plan things better so if you mess up there's a way out. Me, well I'm well out of pocket and stuck here for the next two days, oh and will be walking to work till I can get a replacement. ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge |

Gutted. At least you had a go!
Looks like you could somehow bodge that back together to tide you over until the replacement arrives. |

Thinking about it, I'm not sure I undid those pipes when I did mine, most of it I left in place or disconnected further up the pipe.
