For those who have been following my clutch replacement saga, an update (and some progress, of sorts).
After much Def2 member advice on the ECU malfunction, with some top tips from Pete at BAS, ![]() ![]() So after two days, a lot of chin rubbing, head scratching, forum posting and swearing I can confidently tell you absolutely ![]() ![]() So all good. Quick oil and filter change whilst in workshops and ready to go. Except we're not. Even with healthy resistance on the clutch pedal, the clutch would not engage the gears. Bled and re-bled the system, to no avail. With the engine off it finds gears no problem, but whilst running and 1st/Rev/2nd are impossible, 3/4/5/6 grindingly difficult. We're hoping it's just the Master Cylinder, but if it's the (new!!) slave, I'll be gutted. ![]() If anyone has suffered a similar problem and can tell me what it might be in lieu of the two obvious faults above, I'd love to hear it. Yet another bit of knowledge to add to my own, personal Wikifender.... ![]() I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Good morning Grenadier,
have you found the problem with the clutch? If the slave is new, what about the pipe? A slight leak will cause loss of pressure at the critical point, and will only weep a small amount of fluid. Had something similar on a classic car last summer. Hope you got it sorted. 1998 Tdi 90 SW, 2008 Td4 90 SW, 2012 2.2 90 SW, 2" raised Trailmaster/Terrafirma Heavy Track Raids, 255 MTīs, Recaro CSīs, anorak, wellingtons |
